After a Composite or Ceramic Dental Restoration

After a local anesthetic, numbness may last from 1 to 4 hours. To avoid accidentally biting yourself, wait to eat until the numbness disappears. You may drink,  but avoid hot liquids to prevent burns.

After the treatment, if you sense that your teeth are not closing completely when you eat, a minor adjustment may be required. It is important to call us immediately at 514-376-4911. If a dental filling is too high, it can cause pain during chewing and make the teeth sensitive to cold. However, mild sensitivity to heat and cold is normal in the days after treatment.
